Compact Fluorescent
Compact fluorescent lighting, sometimes called power compacts, offers good efficiency and long bulb life compared to VHO (Very High Output) and NO (Normal Output) fluorescents. They come in a wide variety of configurations including complete fixtures with built in cooling to versatile retrofit kits for the DIY hobbyists. They have a low operating cost and run cooler than other types of intense aquarium lighting.
