Easy Setup and Tuning
The setup of the system is explained completely with the custom ebook instructions and diagrams showing equipment connections. Tuning your your system to produce the corect levels of CA and ALK is a snap using the included test kits. The secrets to finding good local deals on CO2 bottles and bottle refills is also explained in the e-book. The only other things you will need is a 5 or 10lb CO2 bottle (sold separately), and Calcium Reactor Media(see below).
How does it work?
A calcium reactor works by dissolving calcium and carbonate rich aragonite media into your aquarium water and slowly dosing it back to your tank. The reactor chamber is injected with CO2 to lower the pH to around 6.5 to 6.7 creating an acidic state that will dissolve the media. This is controlled by the CO2 regulator/solenoid and automated with the pH controller. If the pH gets too low the controller will turn the system off making the system automated and worry free.
Your aquarium water is enriched with calcium, carbonate, strontium, magnesium, potassium and other essential trace elements contained in the dissolved media. This give your corals and other calcareous creatures the conditions they need to grow and thrive.
