Eshopps Refugium R-300 2nd Generation
An excellent refugium from Eshopps offering great value and performance. Features a skimmer compartment with filter sock micron bag in the first section. The second section is the refugium area allowing you to grow macro algae to remove excess nitrate and phosphate from your aquarium. It can also provide a refuge for copepods to grow providing a natural food source for your reef tank. The refugium section also features black wall which keeps the light in the center section and off your other equipment. The last section is the return section for your pumps. This compartment features comb teeth style baffles to help prevent any macro algae from entering this section.

The center section of the refugium can be set up with sand, live rock and/or macro algae such as caluerpa or chaetomorpha. Please note that these items are not included. You can also use a rich refugium substrate to provide addtional elements to the aquarium (see below). If you decide to grow macro algae in the center section you will also need a light (see below). Requires about 16-18lbs of substrate for a 2-3 inch sand bed. Recommended max flow rate: 900GPH. Optimal flow rate for macro algae: 400GPH.
